Classically elegant George II pear-shaped silver cream jug. Cut rim and double-scrolled handle with engraved thumb piece. Raised on three scrolled legs with trefoil feet. Hallmarked for the London assay office 1749. Makers mark 'S.M' for Samuel Meriton I (registered at the London assay office 1746). Also initialled with the letters 'MR'. 9.5cm height.
