Tall elegant Royal Doulton tube-lined stoneware vase c1910. Beautifully executed tube-lined rose blooms and foliage on a sky-blue body, graduating to royal-blue at its base. Foliage is in tonal shades of green emphasised by glazes with differing lustres. Detail at shoulder below royal-blue broad rim. The vase measures 34.5 cm in height and is approximately 14 cm across its shoulder. Incised Royal Doulton mark and artist's monogram FJ (for Florrie Jones). Pattern number 7816.

 

Florrie Jones is listed as working at Doulton as Senior Assistant in 1902 and worked at Royal Doulton until 1928. Her work was well regarded and she completed a number of original designs. For information on Royal Doulton visit our Maker's History pages.
