A finely carved set of four walnut balloon back chairs c1845. Beautifully carved balloon back and cross-rail with leaf and floral motifs. Serpentine seat frame with show-wood beads supported on elegant French cabriole legs with carved scroll-shell motif to the front, with out-swept back legs. Gorgeous honey-coloured patina with their original finish. Newly and traditionally re-upholstered crown-top, over-stuffed seats - retaining its original hessian horse-hair rolls.
