Quality silver and leather covered desk clock by Thornhill & Co, London 1884. Silver framed panels with leather inserts mounted on a brass case. The clock has an attractive angular silver handle and is raised on four bun feet. Stylish black enamel dial with white roman numerals - signed W. Thornhill & Co London. Movement is an 8-day timepiece with vertically-orientated, original lever platform escapement. Backplate stamped WT&Co for William Thornhill. Winding and adjusting key fitted within the back door of the clock. Silver hallmarked for London Assay Office 1884 together with maker's mark WT (for William Thornhill). The clock measures 9cm in height without handle (11cm to top of handle) and 7cm in width, 4cm depth. Excellent time keeper. A very stylish, quality clock.

This clock is in overall excellent condition. The dial is in perfect condition as are its silver mounts. The leather on both side panels have been replaced with well-matched leather in its past - now well aged. Movement in excellent working order.
