Japanese Meiji period scalloped Imari charger c1900. Nicely painted in the Imari palette with gilt highlights. Characteristic design of vase with flowers centrally and with broad, scalloped rim decorated in opposing floral and foliate panels in-between chrysanthemums. Painted underglaze character to its base (unknown). This charger is a good example of the Imari-ware that was made for export during the Meiji period. It has an unglazed foot and its ground has a blue tint.
