Kosta glasbruk was founded in 1741 and is one of the world’s oldest operating glassworks. The name Kosta was derived using the first letters from the names of the two founders of the glassworks (Anders Koskull and Georg Bogislaus Staël von Holstein). Over time Kosta became Sweden´s leading glassworks, producing a wide range of items from basic glassware to luxury art glass pieces.
Vicke Lindstrand worked at Kosta from 1950 to 1973 as artist director. Items signed LH were Lindstrand designs produced as part of a range but were not mass produced. Numbering for these designs starting at 1001.

This vase is in very good overall condition - clean externally and internally. There is one very minor surface "nibble" - just visible in the last image. Very minor surface abrasion internally - only just possible to see when held to bright daylight. Included here as part of its comprehensive description. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
