A pair of early Victorian deep-button tub armchairs with quality rosewood frames c1850. Fine quality scroll and foliate carving to front legs, arm supports and front serpentine rail. Carved cabriole front legs terminating in ball and volute feet and rear out-swept legs. All show-wood is of top-quality rosewood with a lovely aged colour and with its original finish. The chairs retain their traditional horsehair and hessian rolls and are offered here as requiring re-upholstery. Maximum dimensions are 68 cm in width, 84 cm in height and 82 cm overall depth.
