A very solid, good Regency Cuban mahogany breakfast table c1815. Beautifully figured two-piece jointed top with reeded edge. Ovoid shaped table-top supported by a reeded cannon barrel column pedestal. Pedestal raised on four out-swept sabre legs with further reeded decoration, terminating in substantial square cap brass casters. Tilt action is strongly secured by an original elaborate coupled, sprung double bolts with pull-rod and gilt brass pull-knob. Original locating inset brass keeper plates in pedestal top. Original finish and gorgeous aged patina throughout. Table-top measures 145 cm by 114 cm – very generously seating four and comfortably seating six. Table-top height is 71 cm.
