Strikingly styled American Art Deco sterling silver tazza or centrepiece bowl c1930. Deep heavy gauge silver bowl supported on a central pedestal and with three curved, tapered legs. All raise on a triangular base with canted edges. The three legs are of ebonised horn - giving them an attractive sheen. The central pedestal with tapering ovoid knop, originally in ivory (see last image) - for export reasons this has been replaced using 'Elforyn Super Tusk' as a non-ivory alternative. Both original and replacement pieces are included where legislation permits. The piece is mark "sterling silver" to the base. The tazza bowl measures 23.5 cm in diameter and is 12.5 cm in height. An extremely attractive and unusual piece.

Original ivory knop with some age cracks - now replaced using Elforyn Super Tusk (regarded as a high-quality ivory alternative with Schreger lines to imitate real ivory but contains a UV dye so that it can be easily distinguished). Silver with extremely minor signs of age and use. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
