A simply elegant near-pair of antique Arts and Crafts hand planished solid silver candlesticks, 1908. Weighted base with tapering cylindrical stem rising to a collared shoulder supporting the sconce with flared rim. The candlesticks are 13cm in height with base measuring 7cm in diameter. Both carry Birmingham assay hallmarks and maker’s mark J.G for Joseph Gloster. (Mark used between c.1895 and 1908 – registered new mark J.G Ltd in 1909). Partially rubbed date mark “i” for 1908 (corresponding to dates for maker’s mark).

These candlesticks are in very good condition commensurate with age. One has two minor scratches to its base, the other has a dint to the side and underside of its rim. Shown in images. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
