Maud Bowden was one of the many long-serving Doulton Lambeth assistants - starting in 1903 when the elaborate designs of the Victorian period changed into more simple tube-lined designs. She worked at Royal Doulton until 1937, when the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles were in decline. She was well regarded as a Senior Assistant - assisting Doulton artists as well as making her own pieces. For more information on Doulton visit our Maker's History pages.
Royal Doulton Stoneware Vase by Maud Bowden c1905 (17.5cm)
This vase is in excellent original condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. Salt-glazing naturally produced an attractive stippled effect on the finished colour as seen on this piece. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
