Maud Bowden was one of the many long-serving Doulton Lambeth assistants - starting in 1903 when the elaborate designs of the Victorian period changed into more simple tube-lined designs.  She worked at Royal Doulton until 1937, when the Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles were in decline. She was well regarded as a Senior Assistant - assisting Doulton artists as well as making her own pieces. For more information on Doulton visit our Maker's History pages.

  • This vase is in excellent original condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. Salt-glazing naturally produced an attractive stippled effect on the finished colour as seen on this piece. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
