Royal Doulton salt-glaze stoneware vase c1910. Tube-lined pastel pink rose on a mottled blue body. Pale blue detail to rim, deep blue internal to neck. Impressed Royal Doulton mark used 1902-1922 to base together with incised monogram BN (for Bessie Newbery) and pattern number 7816. The vase is 24.5 cm in height and 11 cm maximum diameter.
Bessie Newbery was listed in 1882 as a Junior Assistant but her talent was recognised and she was promoted to Senior Assistant. By 1911 she was working as a Supervisor and Artist, designing original work c1914 to 1924. For more information on Doulton visit our Maker's History pages.

This vase is in excellent original condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. Salt-glazing naturally produced a stippled effect on the finished colour. Please see images as these form an important part of the description.
