Attractive and uncommon Art Deco blue-green glass table lamp by Etling c1930. Art Deco glass vase base with repeating panels of foliage and berries. Frosted ground with blue-green finish and with polished highpoints - accentuating the design. Bands of repeating geometric design to neck and base. Moulded marks to base ETLING FRANCE and number 35. Original metal light fitting holding a smaller bulb inside the lamp base and an upright larger bulb. Blued finish to metal fitting retained. We have matched the lamp with a contemporary drum-shaped pure linen shade in teal, which perfectly complements the base. The lamp has been rewired and fitted with an inline dimmer unit. Push-through switch to original light fitting allowing you to select having only the internal light bulb on or both lights on together. Inline dimmer controlling light levels on either setting. Supplied with LED bulbs. The lamp has been PAT tested after being rewired. Overall height to top of shade is 51 cm. Diameter of shade is 30 cm. Height of glass vase base is 28.5 cm.
 
The firm of Etling, founded by Edmond Laurent Etling, was based in Paris at 29, Rue de Paradis - retailing high quality exclusive decorative items during the 1920's and 1930's. Etling was one of the most active editors of sculpture, glass and ceramics in the inter-war years. Although better known today for their glass, Etling commissioned items in a range of materials - which were sold from the shop in Rue de Paradis. Etling closed in 1940 during WW2. Edmond Etling and his family were transported to a concentration camp where they died. The company's entire output was in the Art Deco style of the interwar period.
