A good Georgian mahogany stool in Chippendale design c1780. The stool has four square section, moulded legs with inside chamfers supporting the off-set seat frame. Seat frame with concave curved long seat-rails and thumbnail moulding to top. Drop-in seat shaped to match seat rails. Traditionally re-upholstered in a quality neutral fabric and retaining the original horsehair roll. Three stretcher infrastructure and carved decorative scroll-acanthus corner blocks to leg tops. The stool measures 54 cm in width and 40 cm in depth. Seat height at center is 46 cm.
