Unusual octagonal Japanese Meiji period reeded Imari or Arita charger c1900. Delicately painted border covered in a profusion of flowers around a central panel. Decorated in traditional imari colours with gilt highlights. Reeded border ending in an octagonally shaped rim. Characteristic blue underglaze decoration to reverse. This charger is a good example of the Imari-ware that was made for export during the Meiji period.
