Handsome and well-proportioned Regency mahogany sofa table c1815. Solid figured mahogany top with reeded edge. Drop-leaf to either side, each securely supported on double brackets when lifted. Two true drawers to front with drawer-fronts edged in ebony lines. Brass pull-handles and escutcheons. Rear with two dummy drawers replicating the front so that the table also works perfectly as a free-standing piece. Table top raised on solid mahogany supports with central, turned cross-stretcher and swept sabre legs, terminating in brass cap casters. Retains its original finish and antique patina. The table measures 72 cm in height and 68 cm depth. Width is 99 cm closed and 152 cm when open. With apologies that some of the images show a light spot caused by light interference – this is definitely not present on the table.

This sofa table is in excellent condition commensurate with age. Drop-leaves straight and hang vertically. Drawers run freely. All joints are solid. Minor historic marks, wear and repairs as is to be expected with genuine antique furniture. Restored in our workshop to a high standard using traditional methods and materials.
