A classically elegant Art Nouveau liqueur jug by WMF made c1890. Cut glass body and silver plated mount with original stopper. Pierced mount and handle incorporating its design of ginkgo leaves on sinuous stems. The jug carries the WMF mark used circa 1885-1895. Stamped "WMFB i/o OX" signifying that the base-metal is Britannia Metal and that the silver plate was "oxidised" to give it a darker, antique silver patina. Its finish has been left unpolished and thus has retained its beautifully aged patina. 22cm in height.
